A Question of Yams
This story is based on the experiences of Amok, a Christian man of Papua, New Guinea, who dared to challenge the traditions of the yam cult. Tribal custom was to pray the spirits to bless the yam crop when it was planted. Kieri’s father prayed to God to bless his yams.
